Huawei MediaPad M3 Review and Specification

A winner of iF Design Award 2017, the Huawei MediaPad M3 is a device on the face of it built to rival popular offerings such as the iPad Mini 4. The tablet boasts a sleek design, a powerful Kirin 950 processor, LTE connectivity, and impressive audio capability.

Huawei MediaPad M3 Key Features and Specs

>> Octa-Core Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 950 CPU,

>> 4GB RAM

>> Mali-T880 MP4 Graphics

>> 8.4-inch IPS Display, 2560 x 1600 pixels (386 ppi)

>> 4G LTE Data

>> 5100 mAh Li-Po Battery

Design and Display

One may not be wrong to say this is one stylish slate, looking at the curves and design material. The sleek unibody design features aerospace-grade aluminium, according to Huawei. The chassis fashioned using a 5-axis CNC machine. In few words, the Huawei MediaPad M3 is an attractive device you are likely to want to flaunt before your friends.

Huawei MediaPad M3 rocks an eye-catching 8.4-inch IPS touchscreen with an impressively high resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This gives a pixel density of about 360 pixels per inch. You are in for great visual experience when using the tablet. Huawei says it features advanced dynamic brightness control to help deal with eyestrain.

Performance and OS

On the inside, the Huawei MediaPad M3 carries an in-house octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. This rocks along at speeds of up to 2.3 GHz. And with 4 GB of RAM in the mix, you should expect impressive responsiveness. One will not be expecting too much by trying to run some demanding 3D games on this beast.

Huawei MediaPad M3 was released running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Over this lies the Chinese company’s EMUI 4.1 skin, which, sadly, is not the latest and is rather heavy.

Additional Specs and Features

While tablets are not the ideal choices for photography, the Huawei MediaPad M3 still impresses all the same. It comes with a combo of 8MP front and rear cameras featuring autofocus.

You get a humongous 5,100mAh battery rated to last about seven hours under heavy usage. Connectivity features include 4G LTE (Cat4) offering superb mobile download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Huawei MediaPad M3 supports LTE on MTN, Glo mobile, Etisalat, NTel, Smile, and InterC.

There is a fingerprint scanner on board for added protection. The Huawei MediaPad M3 tablet is also set up to deliver rich sound via a pair of laterally fitted stereo speakers. These are backed by Huawei’s SWS 3.0 technology. The audio system also benefits from the sound tuning prowess of Harman Kardon.
